Physical Education and Lifelong Fitness

The program stresses life-long fitness, mastery of movement skills, cooperative games, the understanding of rules that pertain to the particular sport and strategies, and the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Students are encouraged to work to their potential and develop a strong fitness base. The program develops motor skills applicable to all physical activities and sports.

Students attend physical education for at least three periods per cycle. All students are required to change into the Trevor Day School physical education uniform In addition, all students are encouraged to participate in the after school athletics program which is available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Open gymnasium time: During the week, students who have met their daily schoolwork can come to the gymnasium and ask for additional help in any particular sport. Students are encouraged to seek out a physical education teacher to help organize games and activities as long as the gymnasium is available.

 

Note: Curriculum is fluid and ever changing. Trevor Day School reserves the right to change its courses and the content of these courses. It should also be noted that policies, practices, and procedures may change during an academic year
