NYC Parks and Public Areas), and The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Fourth and Fifth Grade Senate
For each of the three terms, each
of the fourth and fifth grade homerooms elects a senator to represent
them in the weekly senate meeting. A student may serve only one
term a year. Each homeroom rotates between electing a boy and a girl
so
that the senate is evenly balanced. We have found that the students
are very interested in leadership and enjoy planning events. The
senate discusses such issues as the school lunch offerings, pajama
day, cast parties, and fund raising for good causes. |
