Based on the successful experience of over 10,000 students in Australia, the Anytime Anywhere Learning program at Trevor was initiated in March of 1996 and supported by Microsoft and Toshiba. The purpose of the project was to bring effective computer technology into the academic daily life of students by providing laptop technology to all students in grades five through 12.

The implementation of Trevor's Anytime, Anywhere Learning program began in the fall of 1996 with the purchase of faculty laptops and the inclusion of our fifth, sixth, and ninth grades. This began a four-year, phase-in process leading up to laptops required for every student From grades five through 12, which was eventually achieved in September of 1999.

Throughout the first four years of the early laptop program, the School used Toshiba as its hardware vendor. A committee of faculty, students, administrators and consultants re-evaluated that choice in 2000. The school now purchases and recommends hardware exclusively from Dell, which maintains an excellent reputation for quality, service and support.

Just as the paper and pencil became so essential in daily life in the twentieth century, so too has the laptop computer, functioning as a transparent part of the daily life of teachers and students in the twenty-first century.
