Trevor Day School Community Health & Wellness Pledge
The following pledge recognizes our shared responsibility for community health, wellness, and safety at Trevor Day School. It is informed by science and based on values of mutual respect and trust in all community members.
In order for our shared environment to be as safe as possible, and to protect the health and wellness of each individual and the Trevor community at large, we pledge that we will commit to the following behaviors and protocols.
COMMUNITY MEMBERS MAKE A COMMITMENT TO:
Participate in testing and contact tracing as well as isolation and quarantine protocols, when required.
Stay up to date with well-child visits and check ups with primary care physicians.
Stay home when experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or feeling generally unwell, or after likely possible exposure to COVID-19.
Respect and adhere to the direction of those monitoring arrival, dismissal, and school entrances at all times.
Employ social distancing on campus whenever possible.
Wear a face covering over the nose and mouth at all times on campus. The exceptions to this protocol are during scheduled face covering breaks with social distancing, when eating or drinking with social distancing, during rest time for Nursery–Kindergarten students, or when alone in a private room with a closed door.
Follow basic health precautions, including frequent hand washing/sanitizing and shared-space hygiene.
Observe directional signage and other COVID-19 guidance posted on both campuses.
Follow all current regulations with regard to quarantining after travel.
Alert a faculty member (in the case of a student) or a school nurse (in the case of a staff member) should they feel ill while on campus.
Should they become ill at school, pick up students as quickly as possible, and, in all cases, no more than one hour after being contacted by the school. Faculty who become ill at school should leave campus immediately after their visit to a school nurse.
Alert a school nurse, should they learn of their exposure to COVID-19, and follow all testing and contact tracing, as well as isolation and quarantine protocols, if required.
Respect the role that social distancing plays in limiting the spread of the virus by adhering to city and state guidelines regarding gatherings when off-campus and recognize that it is safest to limit exposure to individuals not living within one’s household.
Follow city and state public health requirements when off-campus, including face coverings and social distance.
TREVOR DAY SCHOOL MAKES A COMMITMENT TO:
Follow all health and safety requirements of New York State and City authorities.
Inform all community members of Trevor health and safety policies.
Maintain enhanced cleaning and sanitizing throughout both campuses.
Maintain appropriate social distance through the placement of furniture and signage.
Track COVID-19 symptoms and cases within the Trevor community.
Maintain isolation facilities for community members experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
Provide PPE and face coverings to employees (as needed for their work functions), and face coverings for students (who do not have them or need to replace them).
Provide facility upgrades to enhance health and safety, including the addition of hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations, higher efficiency air filters, and air purifiers.
Support COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, quarantine, and isolation, as needed.
Share information about suspected exposure, confirmed exposure, school closure, and any changes in protocols or procedures in a prompt and consistent manner.
