Thank you for your interest in Trevor! Our application deadline for fall 2019 has now passed. If you are interested in submitting a late application, please contact our Admissions team at firstname.lastname@example.org or (212) 426-3380.
To begin the admission process, please submit a completed Application along with a $60 non-refundable application fee. This fee is waived for applicants who are also applying for financial aid; please call our office at (212) 426-3380 to obtain the Application fee waiver code. Families are encouraged to submit the Application as soon as possible in order to ensure availability of an interview appointment. Submitting a photo of the applicant is optional but encouraged.
After you have submitted the Application, we will call to schedule your family's visit to Trevor. Your visit will last approximately two hours and it will include a tour of the campus, a student interview, and a conversation with the parent(s)/guardians(s).
An interview is a required part of the admissions process. While we do our best to schedule all families who submit an Application, interview appointments are limited and we encourage families to submit the Application as early as possible. After appointments have filled, a waiting list for interviews is created.
NOTE: You must submit the Application before you can be scheduled for a visit.
If your family is applying for financial aid, please answer yes to the relevant question on the Application and call our office at (212) 426-3380 for a fee waiver code before submission. Families requesting financial aid must complete a TADS application (Tuition Aid Data Services) by December 1st.
TADS applications will be available online at www.tads.com after October 1st. There is a single fee of $34 for submitting a TADS application, regardless of how many schools receive the financial aid summary report. There is no fee waiver available for TADS applications.
The Financial Aid page of Trevor’s website provides additional information on our Financial Aid program.
Only one Parent Statement is required, but multi-household families may submit more information if desired. The Parent Statement may be accessed in Ravenna.
Parents who are most comfortable submitting their responses in Spanish or French are encouraged to do so. Speakers of both languages are members of the Trevor Admissions Committee.
The Student Questionnaire is designed for the student to complete; it consists of a survey of extracurricular interests and short answer questions. The Student Questionnaire may be accessed in Ravenna.
Please provide your child’s current school with a signed Transcript Release form by December 1st. This form authorizes the submission of your child’s cumulative school record (prior and current school year) directly to Trevor. Official transcripts must come directly from the school and will be treated as confidential.
We understand that some schools will not release transcripts that include the current year until after January 7th. Please write or call our office if transcripts will not be released by the deadline so that we may make a note in your child's file.
Please request a recommendation from your child’s current math and English teachers after November 15th. This time frame ensures that your child's current teacher has had an opportunity to get to know them. Trevor uses the ISAAGNY common recommendation forms, which are sent as "Delegated" forms by families to teachers through Ravenna.
For 6th grade applicants, Trevor accepts the single, combined ISAAGNY Common Recommendation encompassing math and English if the student has the same teacher for both subjects. Students who have different teachers for these two subjects should submit separate ISAAGNY math and English recommendations.
All applicants to grades 7-12 should submit separate ISAAGNY math and English recommendations.
All applicants to Grades 6-12 must take either the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) OR the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). We accept either exam, only one is required, and we have no preference as to which an applicant takes. We do advise scheduling a test date early, so that testing may be completed no later than January 7th.
The SSAT may be scheduled by contacting the Enrollment Management Association (previously SSATB) directly: (609) 683-4440 or www.ssat.org. The Enrollment Management Association administers tests for boarding and day school applicants across the United States and internationally. Trevor's School Code is 2746; you will need this code to authorize the release of your child's scores directly to Trevor.
Applicants may schedule the ISEE by contacting the Educational Records Bureau (ERB): (212) 672-9800 or www.erblearn.org. The ERB administers tests for member schools of the Independent School Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY). Trevor's ERB School Code is 336331; you will need this code to authorize the release of your child's scores directly to Trevor.
