Summer Programs at Trevor

Summer 2020 Update: This summer, Trevor’s Lower School will offer new virtual programs for current and incoming students who are rising Nursery through rising 6th Grade: academic classes in the morning—designed to exercise our students’ skills over the summer months; and enrichment programs in the afternoon—designed to spark joy, creativity, and comaraderie. We will also continue offering our virtual Music & Theatre Conservatory throughout the summer.

    Learn through play and play to learn!

    Trevor will host four camps this June: Playground Camp with Your After-School Teachers, Musical Theatre Camp with Ms. Golanka Ms. McCloskey, Kindercamp with Ms. Rechenberg,and Sports, Minecraft, Roblox, and other iPad Games Camp with Mr. Berishaj.

  • 2020 Summer Virtual Conservatory

    Trevor’s Summer Conservatory offers music and theatre lessons between June and September to allow students to continue their performing arts education year round and to invite new students to begin lessons at a more flexible time in their academic schedule.

    Summer Conservatory lessons are taught in students homes by Trevor Music Conservatory faculty.  For Summer 2020, all lessons will be taught virtually through facetime or zoom. Mutually convenient scheduling is facilitated by families and the faculty. All fees are processed by the Trevor Business Office. Students must commit to at least six lessons. Families may request more lessons by contacting the director of the program.

  • 2020 Virtual Summer Classes

    Virtual Morning Academic Classes (9:30 am or 10:45 am)

    • Designed for rising Nursery through rising 6th-grade students.
    • Classes offered weekly for eight weeks. June 22nd, through August 14th. Families may register for  courses for a week at a time.
    • The same class will be offered twice daily, offering flexible scheduling for families.
    • 50-minute Language Arts classes, three times per week, at a cost of $10 per class.
    • 50-minute Math classes, twice per week, at a cost of $10 per class,
    • 50-minute Letters, Numbers, Songs & Fun for Nursery students,  twice per week, at a cost of $10 per class.
    • 50-minute Letters, Numbers, Songs & Fun for Nursery students,  three times per week, at a cost of $10 per class.
    • Each class group will be geared toward a particular grade range, but will not be age-specific. This will provide flexibility in creating groups that can work on similar skills at a similar pace.

    Class Schedule:

    Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays:

    • Language Arts classes for rising Kindergarten- rising 6th Grade students at 9:30 am and again at 10:45 am.
    • Letter, Numbers, Songs & Fun: Academic Building Block for rising Pre-K Students at 9:30 am, and again at 10:45 am.

    Tuesdays & Thursdays:

    • Math classes for rising Kindergarten-rising 6th Grade students at 9:30 am, and again at 10:45 am.
    • Letter, Numbers, Songs & Fun: Academic Building Block for rising Nursery Students at 9:30 am, and again at 10:45 am.

    *Please note that each of these course offerings is contingent upon sufficient enrollment.

    Tuition & Registration:

    The tuition for three Language Arts classes per week is $30; tuition for two Math classes per week is $20.
    The tuition for three Letters, Numbers, Songs and Fun classes per week is $30; tuition for two Letter, Numbers, Songs and Fun per week is $20.

    Students may register for one course or both courses (Language Arts and/or Math) per week and must commit to attending all of the classes during that week. Language Arts classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Math classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Course offerings are contingent on enrollment. All of the classes will be taught by Trevor faculty.

Families will be billed monthly via their My BackPack account. If you register for a class and withdraw 24 hours before the class starts, you will not be charged. No-shows and withdrawals less than 24 hours in advance cannot be refunded.


    Virtual Afternoon Enrichment Programs (from 1:00-4:00 pm)

    • Designed for rising Nursery through rising 6th-grade students.
    • Classes offered daily-Monday through Friday, for nine weeks: June 15th, through August 14th.
    • Classes each run 60 minutes, between 1:00 and 4:00 pm
    • Although some classes repeat throughout the week, each day will be a different curriculum-so students can register for the same class multiple times throughout the week and summer.
    • Details about grade-level availability for each class is posted on the online registration form.
    • Trevor teachers leading the classes include: Mr. Berishaj, Ms. Good, Ms. Kelly, Mr. Latting, Ms. Linder, Ms. McCloskey, Ms. Nugent, Ms. Rechenberg, Ms. Taylor, Mr. Kavanaugh and Ms.Woo.

    Week 1 (June 15th) Class Options: Disney Musical Theatre, Movie Musicals Musical Theatre, Coding, Fun Fitness, Yoga, Superheros with Mr. B., Building Legos & More, Martial Arts, Science & Engineering, Stretching, Pilates & Yoga, Dance Cardio, and Boxing Workouts.
     
    Week 2 (June 22nd) Class Options: High School Musical (Musical Theatre), Coding, Fun Fitness, Yoga, Superheros with Mr. B., Building Legos & More, Science & Engineering, Martial Arts, Stretching, Pilates & Yoga, Dance Cardio, and Boxing Workouts.
     
    Week 3 (June 29th) Class Options: Let's Write a Musical, Art, Yoga, Fun Fitness, Science & Engineering, Embroidery, Origami, Martial Arts, Stretching, Pilates & Yoga, Dance Cardio, and Boxing Workouts.
     
    Week 4 (July 6th) Class Options: Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie Musical Theatre, Art, Cooking, Dance, Embroidery, Origami, Martial Arts, Fun Fitness, and Yoga.
     
    Week 5 (July 13th) Class Options: Wicked, Enchanted, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Annie Musical Theatre, iMovie, Fun Fitness, Yoga, Martial Arts, Star Wars Club, Music Theory, Building Legos & More, and Cooking.
     
    Week 6 (July 20th) Class Options: Audition Prep for TV, Audition Prep for Musical Theatre, iMovie, Yoga, Fun Fitness, Star Wars Club, Music Theory, Building Legos & More, Martial Arts, and Environmental Fashionistas.

    The tuition $10 per enrichment class. For every 5 classes registered, families receive one complimentary class. Course offerings are contingent on enrollment. All of the classes will be taught by Trevor faculty and Afterschool Teachers.

    Financial Aid:
     
    All families already receiving financial aid toward tuition are eligible to receive aid toward Trevor’s summer programming. Financial aid will be applied at the same percentage as your family’s financial aid tuition grant. This will be reflected in the billing for your selected summer programs, available through My BackPack following registration.
     
    During this public health crisis, we understand that each family is experiencing a unique set of circumstances, and we want our summer programs to be accessible to all Trevor students. We encourage all families to be in touch with the Directors of Financial Aid at finaid@trevor.org, if they have questions for require support.
