Luke Sample '21 Claims 78th NY State Boys' Junior Amateur Golf Championship
Luke Sample '21 successfully defended his title, claiming the 78th New York State Boys’ Junior Amateur Golf Championshipin a sudden-death playoff. This is Luke's third straight state title, including the 2017 NYS Sub-Junior and 2018 NYS Junior. In August, Luke qualified and competed in the 217th Met Amateur Championship at Hudson National Golf Course. Harold Chang, Math Department Chair and Varsity Golf Coach helped Luke to navigate the beautiful course.
This follows an incredibly successful spring season for Trevor's Varsity Golf Team, in which they won nine of their ten matches. During the season, Luke won the NYCAL League Tournament, while Isaac Slater '20 won the NYSAIS Championship in a sudden-death playoff against his teammate, Luke. Congratulations on an amazing season and continued success over the summer!
