Trevor Thursday Digest - June 3, 2021

Dear Trevor Community,

This academic year, it has been my primary goal to keep our community healthy, safe, and together. This was a theme that I discussed last night at our All-School Community Meeting. My thanks to the hundreds of attendees. For those who couldn’t join us last night, you can find the gathering at this link which has the password "communitymeeting".

We share this goal, and recognize that what we accomplished this year was truly a community effort. We did it, together.

To the COVID-19 committee and our school nurses, thank you, thank you, thank you for your sage advice and the many hours that you worked to help us meet our goal. You were on the front lines of this pandemic and you led with grace, intellect, and empathy.

To our entire teaching faculty, administration, and staff, who planned and executed the reopening of our school, and served as models of absolute flexibility, I thank you. Your work has been a genuine inspiration.

To our parents, who were unflagging in their support of Trevor and its mission, we made you a promise that we would provide an ambitious academic program, a program that engages students and leads to balanced lives. It is my hope that we have lived up to that promise.

And to our students, who learned over and over the need for flexibility, resiliency, and most importantly, perseverance. To persevere is not only to persist, but also to achieve. As difficult as this year has been, you have all achieved so much and no Head of School is prouder than I am on this Thursday afternoon.

I predict that next fall will look very different and I am excited about starting my eighth year as Head of School by greeting all of you in person at the front doors.

Have a relaxing and renewing summer. Get some rest. You’ve earned it!

Regards,

Scott Reisinger
