Trevor's First Annual Hackathon

In early May of this year, Trevor held its very first Hackathon, and it was an incredibly fun and engaging experience for everyone involved! Senior William K. spearheaded the event as part of his Bridge project, with support from his fellow students Jack P. and Jacob A. They ensured that there were competitions and activities for all attendees, regardless of their prior experience.
As expected at a Hackathon, there were thrilling coding competitions that added to the excitement. Gabe E.’s team took home the trophy for the Advanced Level with their imaginative Gone Fishing game, while Laila C.’s team won the Beginner Level with their creative Rocket Exploration and Landing game. The atmosphere was electric as teams showcased their skills and innovation!

Our Hackathon also had a special twist. Participants enjoyed a lively Rube Goldberg competition, where creativity and engineering skills shone. Thanks to Mr. Stoll for his help with this competition! The winners in various categories were:

Most Successful: Gabe K., Jason B., Asher W.
Largest & Longest: Andre J., Tomas G., Ethan C.
Most Innovative: Kayi Z., Jenna B., Oliver G.

Another huge hit at the event was the Metal Working Workshop run by Jacob A. Students collaborated in creating a Barn Star from a sheet of aluminum.

At the end of the day, Gabe E. walked away with the Overall Hackathon Champion award. Congratulations Gabe!

Special thanks to Senior Chris L. who designed and 3D-printed the trophy and provided help in every way possible.

We also want to thank the rest of the Seniors who helped put this together: Sasha K, Charles K, and Harrison A.

Ms. L., our dedicated faculty advisor, played a crucial role in making this Hackathon a reality. Thank you for your guidance and support!

A huge thank you to all who attended! Another exciting Trevor tradition has officially begun!
