As part of our 2025-26 DEI Signature Program, we invite Parents & Guardians to join us for Helping Your Child Thrive at School…From Home. Dr. Yamalis Diaz, of NYU Child Study Center will lead an engaging workshop focused on understanding the various ways children learn. Discover how to identify and build on your child’s learning strengths, explore practical strategies to support learning at home, and create a positive, encouraging home environment. The 2025-26 DEI Signature Program is Diversabilities. As a community, we are celebrating the many different ways people live, learn, and physically engage with the world. Trevor's Health & Wellness Program presents....

The Intersection of Technology & Youth Mental Health
Led by Dr. Dave Anderson

Thursday, January 30, 2025
7:00–8:00 pm
Trevor's East Campus

As parents, navigating the complexities of technology and its impact on youth mental health can be challenging. While there may not be a definite rulebook, embracing flexibility and tailoring your approach to your child’s age and individual needs is key. This workshop explores strategies to set age-appropriate boundaries, foster curiosity, and ensure safe engagement with digital tools.

Dr. Dave Anderson is the Vice President of Public Engagement and Education and a senior clinical psychologist at the Child Mind Institute (CMI). During his 10 years at CMI, Dr. Anderson has directed the ADHD and behavior disorders clinical center at CMI’s NY headquarters, founded CMI’s school and community programs division, and now leads CMI efforts focused on brand ambassadorship, strategic partnerships, and national program dissemination. Dr. Anderson frequently lectures and leads workshops for caregivers, educators, and policymakers, and he has contributed to media for organizations such as ABC, CBS, Fox, CNN, NBC, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, the New York Times, and NPR.

Born and raised in Georgia, Dr. Anderson received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and his doctorate in clinical psychology from Columbia University.
